Lucca is on the Map

In 2024, Lucca had the honor of hosting two of Italy's most iconic events: the Giro d'Italia in May and the Mille Miglia in June. The Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's most prestigious races, brought a thrilling atmosphere as professional cyclists raced through Lucca’s winding streets and historic landmarks. The energy was palpable as locals and visitors alike lined the roads to cheer on the riders during this epic sporting event. Just a month later, the Mille Miglia, a vintage car rally often called "the most beautiful race in the world," made its way through Lucca. Classic cars from around the globe paraded through the city’s picturesque piazzas, adding a touch of elegance and nostalgia to the vibrant scene. Will these events return to Lucca again? TBD.
